Frequent visitor and leader of our latest community project, Leilani Magee is flanked by two of our members who helped re-grip tennis racquets for her, Anna Fishburn (L) and Rosa Chen (R). The front desk crew this evening - Club Service Director Sharon Ehrhorn, Ash Matar, and PE Beth Hoban. Our new leadership plaque is finally hung over the bar...where everyone is sure to see it. Due to the larger than normal crowd this evening, we had a really great buffet dinner instead of the usual individual service. Geneva Graef, Club Service Director and Fundraising Chair for the UH Rotaract Club starts things off by informing our members of their upcoming Relay For Life project on April 14-15.
Program Chair Dianne Ward stepped in for Sandy Gaston to give the Rotary Minute on this auspicious occasion of Rotary's 107th anniversary. Foundation Director Rich Zegar reminding members of EREY when it comes to our committment to Rotary...Time, Treasure, and Talent. PDG Ayman El-Dakhakhni presents PADG & PP Liz Kane with her crystal award for having achieved Major Donor status in Foundation giving, and reminds us of the many other things she has done for Rotary since becoming a member. Liz was asked to tell us why supporting the Foundation as she does is so important to her. UH Rotaract Club Vice President Sara Watanabe asks for our member support of their upcoming project, the Relay For Life walk in the battle against cancer.  See this week's newsletter for details.
Guest Lenny Klompus, who served in former Governor Linda Lingle's administration, explains his support for the Robotics educational programs in our local schools. Guest Corrie Heck, Executive Director of Friends of Robotics Hawaii committee tells us more about the robotics programs and the upcoming competion here in March. Secretary Al Dixon reminded members of the Rotaract Relay For Life flyer in our newsletter, and passed out tickets to members to sell for our upcoming Jazz Under The Stars fundraiser. Our guest speaker Gwen Woltz of Wahine Media, LLC, explains the importance of using social media in all businesses today. Following her presentation, we asked guest speaker Gwen to sign a book to be donated in her name to our adopted Elementary school.
President Paul Jurcsak thanks guest speaker Gwen Woltz for her time and presentation. We assembled all of the UH Rotaractors under our club banner at the end of the meeting.  Mahalo to all of you for coming and brightening our evening.  We hope you will come again. Youth Exchange Student Yuko Kurimochi exchanged banners with Pres Paul.  He was given a special Youth Exchange banner from Rotary District 2790 in Chiba, Japan, Yuko's home country.
