Treasurer Jim Hoban and Secretary Al Dixon checked in members and guests at David & Busters for the Langley Ukulele Ensemble performance. PP Win Schoneman and family getting good seats prior to the evening's performance. The ukulele group does a few warm-ups prior to the start of their presentation. PP Samir El-Swaify with his wife Charlene are joined by Sgt-At-Arms James Buchner at a table in a packed house at David & Busters. President Beth opens the meeting with a few announcements. Gotta take care of business before the fun begins.
Group leader Peter Luongo is given a lei greeting by President Beth's daughter, Michelle. Two of the ukulele groups year after year returning members share their thoughts on why they continue to enjoy performing for Rotarians. PP Win Schoneman has hosted members of the ukulele group every year since they started coming to Hawaii, and is instrumental in their appearances here. Fellow Rotarian and group leader Peter Luongo announces the next song to be performed by The Langley Ukulele Ensemble. The Ensemble members really enjoy their performances...and so do WE!
A spectacular solo on a miked-up ukulele had the audience cheering. ..and they can SING really well too! A solo performer exchanges his ukulele for a mike and center stage for a few moments of memorable music. Standing room only as members and guests take in the rousing performance. The boy's side of the Ensemble add their talent to the overall performance. Membership Director Jane Ferreira brings a big smile to the face of group leader Peter Luongo when she announces that she, too, is a Canadian.
